Edgar is the only bearable part.

Edgar is real. And he is entertaining.

The rest of the people in this show are made into such caricatures that I have a really hard time watching. Particularly, Gretchen, it's like she's not even human anymore.

They're broken people. The only really fake character is Lindsay. She should be locked up in a mental institution.

Edgar is definitely my favorite characters on the show as well, wonderfully nuanced and well acted. Certainly has his issues like we all do, but a solid guy/character.

I agree, but the thing is, Edgar is not really "the worst", because he's aware of his issues, and acts maturely compared to others. He's amazing to watch. The others, especially Lindsey....'nuf said.

This. After all the series' title is You're the Worst which already implies itself.

However, Edgar is also my favourite but due to his comedic side whereas for depression and realism others nail it. Lindsay is probably going to end up being a slut ("escort") though she already is.

Edgar is the most likable for sure but I like Gretchen. Jimmy annoys me and Lindsay has just become a disgusting person, way worse than she was in the first two seasons.

Even Edgar wasn't bearable last night. The show has lost its way completely.

It's really too bad. First two seasons had so much promise! Oh well, those still always will have been fun, anyway.

What was unbearable about Edgar? The guy finally had a tiny bit of good fortune and his jealous girlfriend was so selfish she made him feel guilty about it. He didn't do anything wrong other than almost pass up on getting a job for someone who was very self centered.

It's understandable that Edgar would lack empathy, given his mental health. But that doesn't make it likeable, and there's no excuse for you sharing the deficit.

I was thinking this, too. I felt like cheering when Paul told Lindsay to lawyer up. She's so utterly despicable - as are the rest of the characters. Dorothy is a sad case but you have to wonder if she helps Edgar or hinders him.

reply

hm... I find his acting to be even more unnatural/caricature but ya he's still more enjoyable to watch then the rest of the characters.
