Anti-white-whale messaging

This movie completely failed to mention Moby-Dick even once. That's a whale of an outrage!

reply

White whales are the real victims in our society. Everyone else is just too wrapped up in their culture of plankton-correctness to understand how much they suffer at the hands of Ahab.

reply

Agreed.
The White Whale wasn't even portrayed in "In the Heart of the Sea" which was the true story that inspired Moby Dick.
They used a CGI stunt whale while Moby was left standing in the unemployment line.

The Wizard Has Spoken

reply

That definitely sounds fishy to me.

reply

I believe there was fear that if they hired the real Moby Dick he'd spout off.

The Wizard Has Spoken

reply

Yeah, that guy's always telling some big tail.

reply

MAMMAL. Whales are MAMMALS. You're so racist!

Characters are more important than plot.

reply

Wow, you really went in for the krill with that criticism. I guess I otter do better next time.

reply

I feel reel-y gill-ty about it.

reply

I heard a rumor that they shot that movie dolphin-for-orca.

reply

while Moby was left standing in the unemployment line.

More like swimming in the unemployment tank, amirite?!

reply

Don't worry. We have a presidential candidate who supports Yuuge-Americans! He will force the Hollywood elite to employ pods of them in his first week of office. It will be amazing, I"m telling you, just amazing!

reply

On his first week in office, he'll be forcing underprivileged urchins to build sea walls.

reply

That pesky Gulf of Mexico needs a wall. Too many fishy types swimming around in it, believe me. They are fishy! You don't even wanna know.

reply

That sounds like the kind of platform some poor unfortunate souls will fall for hook, line, and sinker.

reply

I love whales. No, really. I had some in Japan. Delicious. Tasted like chicken.

reply

Why not just eat chicken?

When I club baby seals at least there's sport in that!

Characters are more important than plot.

reply

It's a cautionary whale about white men in pick up trucks for sure
