Not trashy enough

The whole foundation to Amy Schumer's standup has always been her trashiness. She's willing to talk about the most sleazy and shameful situations (ie getting cum in her hair in a nightclub bathroom stall). That's what has always been the defining characteristic for her.

But this movie isn't truly "trashy" per se. Yes, her character is sleazy at times. But really, she's just a party girl who goes overboard with her alcohol/drug intake. They clearly toned down the trashiness of her just to make it more acceptable in the ro-co market. So essentially this movie is just a slightly grittier movie than a typical Katherine Heigl or Jennifer Anniston movie.

Her film career is going to fizzle out quick if she just tries to be a heavy version of those actresses. She needs to show what got her there in the first place.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that her original script was completely butchered by the producers.
