Am I wasting my time watching this?

From what I heard from Wikipedia, here and the trailer it just seems to be a movie that says single people are depressed, drunks who love to sleep around without a care in the world simply because we were influenced at a young age that monogamy doesn't exist like people who don't believe in God cause they were influenced from some traumatic event in their lives (Not true on either BTW!) Some people chose not to believe in God and not because of bad misfortune in their lives and they are happy people. As for single people, some of us (like me) chose not to deal with the whole stress and drama of sharing with other people. Not all of us are alcoholics or weed smokers and yes sometimes we like to "play the fields" once and a while or a lot (so what?! As long as we play it safely).

Let me guess in the end she ends up with the guy and lives happily ever after right?

You hit the nail on the head with the single hypothesis. Exactly how her situation is presented. I didn't see any "God" stuff in it, but I didn't finish the movie either (about 3/4 of the way I couldn't tolerate it anymore). (also not a religious person, so that would have turn me off even more than the movie already did) The main character is just so unlikable that when something bad happens to her, you seriously don't give a rat's A$$. I'm an empathetic person, but didn't care one bit about what happened to her character because she was so unlikable. The movie is aptly titled "Trainwreck" because it's a trainwreck of a movie.

I really wanted to see this when it was in the theaters because it looked funny and I heard funny things about it, but I finally got to see it, on rental, and I thought that it was boring and not funny. I am glad that I didn't pay to see it.
