Better than expected, but...

So the movie of course isn't anything amazingly new. Another silly romantic comedy flying around with generic tongue-in-cheek issues. I find Judd Apatow's movies to be 50/50 - I either generally enjoy them, or think they're pretty bad.

If this movie did not have Bill Hader, I don't think I could've watched it, even though most of the side characters were good. I'm just not an Amy Schumer fan, and I still generally disliked her during most of the movie; and I disliked the rom-com cliches, e.g., the "intervention" as if it was Bill's fault everything failed.

But yes, it was definitely better than I expected, though started off terribly. I almost stopped watching within the first 30 minutes, then it got better here and there.

Anybody else feel the same way?

Your title is perfect. I am not a Hader fan. He's okay. But, obviously Amy and him have years of history and therefore were able to sort of make up some chemistry.

I am a Shumer fan, although I never thought I'd say that. I've only seen her stage act once and I thought I might like to see more of her ideas and jokes. She is really funny. Her writing is original and quick.

I have to say that the haters of this movie obviously just don't like women or are put off by sex. Amy makes great points about life via the sexual angle. If you don't like your humor raunchy, don't watch. I'm not much of an Apatow fan, so my recommending this movie is quite a stretch.
