Why root for amy?

Her character is a selfish pig with nothing redeemable about her.

Are there any rom-coms where you root for the protagonist? Your question would be easier to answer if you gave an example of one.

She isn't funny that is the bottom line and speaking for my self I believe she has an enlarged ego pumped up by main stream media who are obviously pushing an agenda.

I wouldn't even give her the time of day because she is ugly on the inside and outside.

Her 'joke' on some award show (look up Amy Schumer joke about Steve-O) is appalling, speaking of his deceased best mate Ryan Dunn in a disrespectful, disgusting and disgraceful way.

You can see his face cringe and can see the hurt in his eyes, and she NEVER apologised to him ever.

That just goes to show how tactless and horrible she truly is!

No idea. John Cena's character sums it up perfectly; "You are not a nice person".

I kinda got the idea you were supposed to be cheering for Aaron (Bill Hader). He was the likeable one here, the one trying to tame Amy.

reply

Best way to tame her would involve her digging a shallow unmarked grave, then neck-shooting her into in.
Instant gene-pool cleansing!

Because her selfish pig ways were taught to her by her father, a man she loved and knew was a scoundrel at the same time? She had to learn to overcome the brainwashing he fed to her from a very early age. And she couldn't do it until after he died. I thought the reason she was the way she was was very realistically portrayed. Everyone soaks in negative qualities from their parents, like it or not.
