The Brother's Dog
So I'm starting to watch this movie on Netflix and is his dog killed? If so I'm going to hate this flick. Lol

shareBrace yourself
shareis there ever any point to a dog appearing in a thriller/horror movie other than to have it killed off-camera and have the owner stumble upon their beloved pet's body? As soon as the brother comments how the dog never takes its eyes off the owner and the guy answers that his dog has saved his life many times, I knew that poor pooch was toast.
shareSpoilers Ahead! Yeah, Fido gets whacked, but you only see the aftermath with him hanging on a line attached to some tree limbs. Even if the dog survived you will still be underwhelmed by this film unless you're into boredom and frightened women covered in sewer grease killing juvenile delinquents. ✫✫✫/10
He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.
Why do they have to kill innocent animals in every horror flick. Kill all the people you like but leave the animals ALIVE!!
shareI blame Independence Day--recall Vivica's shepherd escaping all of that mayhem while hundreds of thousands Angelenos are toasted? It was such a reductio ad absurdam that it started the pendulum turning the other way, & pets started to become the Elisha Cook Jr. of horror/slasher films.
shareNope, dogs have been dying in movies since movies existed. It's a cheap boost to the tension. It's got old in the 70s.
Agrees. It's just in a few films the pets survives =/

I'm a total bleeding heart animal lover, and this dog's death (sorry, others have spoiled it) didn't bother me. It was off camera and super predictable. I think you'll be okay:)
*I say this as someone that cried when the dog died in I Am Legend, even though I didn't care much for the movie.
They're coming to get you, Barbara!
I'm with you there on both counts. Not enough time to get attached to the dog in "Preservation" and very little visuals or anything relating to the dog being hurt.
In "I Am Legend" the dog was a main character that we bonded with (at least I did. I could almost cry just thinking about that scene where he had to kill it. Man that would be sooo hard to do in reality
Dont watch the film 'cub' you wouldnt like it mate.
