Worth Watching .....

I enjoyed it. Billed as a horror comedy, but pretty light on the laughs. I thought it had a really good atmosphere and the characters were likeable. The end was wacky fun and over the top. The build up to it was effective. If I had one complaint, I thought that the way the movie started definitely took away from how good/surprising the ending was. You knew for sure someone you didn't have to worry about rooting for right from the first two minutes. .... questionable to me why they edited that way.

I felt same and Special effects in the end was a chaos. It looked like a homemade after effects work otherwise movie holds you from very beginning to the end.

However that Sarah's axe scene at the beginning was awesome i don't know how they pulled it. it seemed one continuos shot,

We really killed her. It was one of those things where you only have one take...

Micah, excellent job, great movie. Fx at the end weren't that great, but it was a fun ride. Thanx for the good time.

Mia Faith, a true-blue actress! Literally. Though she's probably gone grey & green by now... unless you cremated her. Anyhow, from filmmakers, it's nice to see that that kind of passion and risk-taking is still alive now that Hollywood has gone all Union rules this and Human Rights that and Save the Baby Hippos!

If I may take this opportunity, I have a question re a point twice mentioned on this thread: Why the flash-forward in the opening sequence? Was it imposed by the studio? A question of confidence and/or of not trusting that the audience will watch up to the gore unless you tantalize them with some right off the bat? Or were you hoping to create a sort of "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" moment wherein the audience is still surprised despite having previously established our expectations? To fool us into thinking this was a crazy-town-gone-slasher movie? Reason I ask: Wondering what the motivation was as I truly question its necessity and think it weakens the film. I don't seem to be the only one.
And, as the saying goes, if I bothered, it's because I care. IMO, this film is a small gem; a quasi-high-brow meta-low-brow parody... not an easy thing to do! Nice job to all.

Also, I'm assuming that the film The Shrine was a big influence re the idea behind They're Watching. Am I right?

Cheers!

Ignorance is bliss... 'til it posts on the Internet, then, it's annoying.

This was no studio film!

I second that, good job!

Definitely worth watching! It is very hard to make a good comedy horror, and this is one of them.

Yeah agree on the first two minutes, I'd recommend skipping them to anyone who hasn't seen it yet 👷👮💂

I thought the effects at the end were very good.

I liked the choice of showing the blonde die early. It takes away the normal IMdb whine/rant of "Why does the hot chick always live?" Then you get to know her, probably like her, and the whole time you know she is doomed.

The only thing I didn't like was the producer chick. Waaaay too over the top with the F-bombs. Bad language doesn't bother me and I know *beep* bosses exist, but she was...at time...just overplaying it IMO.

I agree Kate was portrayed a bit too vile to be taken seriously. They obviously exaggerated her character flaws so we would hope she died horribly. No wonder she got the worst death.

It was an interesting movie. Wasn't too too bad. Maybe improved SFX at the end? I liked the gore of how she killed them but whatever shooting from the witch's hands (all scenes)...I don't know...were too bright? Just seemed/looked not realistic (yes I know it's just a movie).

The opening scene would have been better I feel if, after the Constable said (?) over here, ill save you (?) show her running towards him. Then cut.

That way we could have believed he was trying to help her but getting axed instead thus leaving some suspense.
