Spoiler question: Why is this being called a found footage film?

I've seen a few found footage movies like Blair Witch and the Paranormal Activity movies... the movie footage is found to tell the story since there are no survivors, right?
But in this movie there is a survivor/eye witness to everything, unless I'm missing something.

I think it qualifies as found footage just because it's filmed with handheld camera, and it shows the main characters dying (until the very end you don't know whether the last guy will survive)

And let's face it, the film world has it's own rules so they can pretty much name anything whatever they want

'You're saying that that's a real person...underneath?'
