ABC: Treating Shows + Viewers With Utter Contempt

I can't believe the episode didn't air and with no warning, what is wrong with ABC? They have a great show on their hand that they have completely mis-marketed and incompletely handled.

ABC, why if you plan to ruin shows with your kack-handed, incompetent handling of same do you order them?
To a network, these are your golden geese to be handled with loving care not booted about with utter abandon.
You have shown nothing but utter contempt for The Assets, while we the viewer appreciate and love it, so do yourselves a favor and hand it off to a network or streaming service that will give it a loving home.

In closing, I fully expect The Assets marketed correctly would gain the viewers the show deserves.

They've dropped it a second time, without completing the whole season. What a disappointment. Lots of great talent, British & American. ABC must think their viewers aren't intelligent & all they want is the bachelorette. I'm really disappointed in ABC.

Whatever happened to an eight hour mini-series being shown over 4 nights and advertised constantly as a network event...

This is a text book example of how mishandle decent programming.

I just accidentally turned on the last two minutes of the final episode. I'm furious! They messed this up so much, my dvr didn't record it. I didn't know it was supposed to air this weekend.

I agree with the op. Treating viewers with contempt. Boo, ABC.

reply

My DVR recorded it and I watched. It should be available to watch on ABC.COM soon.

The final episodes are wonderful and well worth tracking down. Quality television with an important story, mishandled by ABC. Shameful.

reply

Yeah it really was a shame it got so mishandled.

They could've tried to re-start it fresh and done it properly after the Ukraine stuff brought Russia and the old Cold War back into people's minds again too.

(On another thread someone said that they had originally planned a bigger, tighter fall release for it but the conservatives apparently threw a fit saying that Jodie Whittaker looked like Valerie Plame and they claimed ABC was trying to sink the GOP in the election and got them to can it and give it a smaller right after New Years release instead. Pretty pathetic and scary if that is the case (I don't know if that really is). They claimed they previewed parts of this along with the Hillary mini-series at the same time and the conservatives flipped out over the Hillary one and then this. A bit disturbing to go nuts over this one just because she looks a bit like Valerie Plame (an important, active CIA field agent who some higher ups the Bush White House outed as political payback for her husband having dared to question some of the evidence used to lead us into the second Iraq war).)

I think abc canceled it because there weren't enough kardashian references or there weren't enough cooking challenges
