Is the book worth reading

I started reading it a while ago and didn't get into it. Is it worth giving another go? I haven't seen the movie as well.

If its anything like the movie, then perhaps don't . I found the movie terribly boring

I had completely forgotten that I had read the book when it first came out. Kept wondering why some scenes in the movie, and the annoying Serena in particular, were familiar. Looking back I thought the book was poorly written. I haven't read his other books. The movie, however, I really enjoyed, especially for the locations.

Book is much better especially the ending.

reply

Yeah the book is WAY better.

Book is definitely better then the movie. I did enjoy the movie for the most part, but would take the book over the movie any day

The book is better. It's a holiday read - you can switch off and go with it. I love all the locations, and thought the ending far better than what was in the film.

It's too cerebral! We're trying to make a movie here, not a film!

I loved this book. I had to stop reading and go look up on the computer all the specific things the book referenced, like the garden they hid in, and the Horse Stature, and so on and it was a great story.
