Driving to Sacramento for a meeting?

According to google, it's nearly six hours from Los Angeles, and that's without stopping or hitting any traffic.

I could see driving up for a meeting like that if you drove up the night before. Are we supposed to believe that they drove up that morning, and did the meeting in the late afternoon? I highly doubt it. They'd be exhausted. How could they make an effective presentation?

I find it more ridiculous that the four of them in the car didn't split/share rooms,( two guys to one room, two women to another) of a hotel that judging by the stationery, was at least $150 a night ( holiday Inns and the like just have a larger post-it style notepad instead of the nicer stationery she wrote her notes on to David) Keep in mind all those folks are part of a NON PROFIT. Michelle is a stay at home mom. Unless David is just independently wealthy and sprang for everyone's hotels, just seems like it was written so that Michelle and David would have a chance to do the two backed beast..

I don't know if the hotel came out of the 'charter school' budget or out of the individual's pockets. Who knows. Maybe they got a deal.

But if I was working for any organization, and they told me I had to share a hotel room, they could carry on without me. I should not have to sleep 6' away from someone else' f*rt*ng, snoring body of not-really-known sexual orientation. And no one should have to sleep that close to mine.

These are grown adults...grown adults who are not family or best friends tend not to share rooms. Perhaps the big crime is that they put them in a more expensive room than made sense...But with a quick internet search they could have paid less than $100 a room for a medium level corporate travel hotel outside the city.

Hotel rooms in Sacramento are WAY cheaper than LA.

Seriously? I know people who will drive 6 hours to hit a 'factory outlet mall' for some alleged bargains. And back. Same day.

Exhausted after a 6 hour road trip? I'd find the road trip restful relative to dealing with airlines, homeland security, tsa, and the over-sized person in the airline seat next to me. Although Korean Karaoke might even that up some.

It's a tv show, guys. It's not real life. If they shared rooms how would Michelle end up getting together with David?

Can't we just pretend it's not a 6 hour drive to Sacramento?

They had adjoining rooms, not a shared room or a suite. Both doors had locks on the inside. They are usually for families so they don't have to walk out in the hallway to go between rooms.

And a 6-hr. drive is not that unusual, especially if it was a public hearing. Those kinds of town hall meetings usually are scheduled in the early evening so citizens have a better chance of attending after work. Six hours to get there by 4PM, public meeting starts at 6PM and can be over in 90 minutes, hit the bar after, and then pass notes between their adjoining rooms before hopping in the sack. Happens all the time! 😀

It's not like they walked there. They were in a car. They wouldn't be that tired.

I'm from Northern California. The capital building doesn't look like that. They didn't even bother shooting that scene in Sacramento. For some reason, that bothered me more. What, they couldn't have sent a small crew up to Sacramento to shoot ONE scene, just get a still of the outside of the capital? They used a local capital in the LA area instead, I guess. Grrrrr.
