It wasn't about anyone she was dating. She was talking about her deceased husband (Mike's son), and something that had transpired at the support group meeting 2 episodes prior (S04E04-Talk)
shareI'm sorry but I have to say I think you are wrong. I just listened to it again, twice, and it seems she clearly was dating the guy Mike attacked in the group setting. My issue is it is too vague, because we weren't aware of the relationship prior to the convo on the porch.
You should listen to it again and see what you think.
Either way, it was way too nebulous, which is unlike these writers.
You need to quote the exact dialogue you're talking about word for word, because I have no idea what you're talking about re: her dating the guy Mike confronted in the meeting. I never picked up on any connection other than them all being members of the same support group.

STACEY 'that would be a big help, thanks'
there it is. i don't understand what the 'i would never forget matty' comment could possibly have to do with mike chewing out that other guy in the group session.

yes i am aware they were talking about mike calling out that dude in the group session. still, what does 'you know i would never forget matty' have to do with that?

I don't think they're talking about the guy at the meeting in this scene, other than when she says to call Nita about the guy, the line 'I would never forget Matty' is a reference to a previous conversation they had earlier in the episode. Watch the meeting again. She said something about forgetting Matty. Then she wanted to assure Mike that would never happen.
oh okay, i will check that out. makes sense.
