I'm glad nothing brought back the color in Saul's (Gene's) life. He don't deserve it.
The only color he could see was the Better Call Saul commercials and he don't even have those anymore.

The logical conclusion for him was to do one more good deed (saving Kim).
Got 86 years... so I think it's fair to say got what he deserved. Will never see the light of day again (even with good behavior, LOL), so I think he deserved that spark of color there.

shareOh yeah. Good symbolism! The ember of his relationship with Kim, yada yada. But kinda interesting that the color is the cigarette, since cigarettes are not exactly good for you! Such a great show, I might have to start over again from the beginning and track all the foreshadowing and symbolism.

shareHe didn’t “save” Kim at all. He made up a lie to incriminate her so she would be sure to be at the sentencing hearing so she would be there to hear his confession. Then before he gave the confession, he said the things he said to the FBI about her were bull$hit.
But he didn’t save her. Nothing really could save her from her own sins. She spearheaded the scam that led to Howard’s demise. Even if she didn’t pull the trigger, Howard would never have been at their home if not for the scam.
Legally, I meant. The guilt on Kim is unbearable and cannot be changed by... anything. Even if a time machine popped into existence for her, and he could save Howard, she still has to deal with the fact that once she was the destructive person who scammed people left and right, and... enjoyed it.

I must say, I liked the episode “Fun and Games” better than the actual finale. If not for the Gene’s storyline, the show could have convincingly ended then.
Agreed! I was actually glad they included the post BB storyline. We needed closure for Jimmy/Saul/Gene - and I think we got it. But Fun and Games was maybe the highest point of the series.

The main thing is that his entire world is still deep greyscaled. And that's what he deserves.
People would've actually lost it if "something" restored everything in his world again. That's the kind of impact Saul definitely doesn't deserve.
Agreed! I was just reacting that factually it is incorrect that there was no color at all in the last ep.
