Sure it will be a nice moment for fans but Jesse is going to look middle-aged when he's supposed to be a young 20 something. It's bad enough seeing Don Eladio looking like a wrinkled prune who miraculously de-ages. I wouldn't mind if they just implied their entrance into Saul's world, I mean what more can be discovered by featuring them exactly?

They even promoted season 6A with the promise that Walt and Jesse would show up, after which they didn't (scammy?). But that was needed since the ratings have been tanking dramatically after season 1.
So they'll be here any day now.
Having them turn up is expected, so I think they have to do it now, but, for me, I don't care unless something earthshaking is revealed. Just to have them turn up with no pay off isn't a very good idea.
shareI agree, unless there's a real reason to show them, and I can't think of one, then may as well keep their faces out of it. Just have their voices with their backs to the camera in a scene would be good enough for me.
shareCGI de-aging is a thing that's been around for years and has gotten better and better. They can easily do that.
shareThey haven't used it before when there's been plenty of chance to do so, it would be strange if they did now, and might look more odd than just showing their real faces. The technology is not to the advanced stage where you can't tell yet.
shareWhat they did with Robert Downey Jr in Civil War was near perfect. But, they had a huge budget compared to BCS so it may not be as good. But I'm sure they can make it decent enough if that's the direction they want to go in. Plus, they'd only have to de-age what, a dozen years or so. That's not too much so it would be easier. Just talking hypothetically of course.
shareI'd be worried about the standard of CG de-aging if they don't have the budget for it. I don't think they'll do that anyway given they haven't bothered so far when actors have looked drastically different to the Breaking Bad timeline i.e. Todd in El Camino. Ultimately I just don't think it's going to be necessary to show them anyway. They could imply that they're there and have them reduced to speaking parts off camera if need be.

shareMaybe Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul saying that they will be in Better Call Saul is just them trolling the audience and they won’t actually show up or maybe they will show up just in the background in “blink or you will miss them” cameos kind of like those episodes of the X-Files where Mulder was missing but could be seen briefly in some scenes.

Better Call Saul is a good show, but did we really need it either?
Not sure we ever need a spin-off, but occasionally they are excellent - just my opinion, but I think Saul has been way better than BB - at least, I have enjoyed it more. Perhaps that's because I have liked the main characters better.
