How many years between BB and BCS?

Ok so I probably just have to let inconsistencies be bygones, but... we know that S1 of BCS is set in 2002 and by my reckoning Kaylee Ehrmantraut looks about 5 years old.

But the last time we saw her in BB was in ep 5x7 when she was at the park with Mike, and she looked about 12. So that's a 7 year difference.

I guess BB plays a bit fast and loose with time, but even so, we know that the whole series takes place over 2 years - and by the end, it's surely gotta be a LOT later than 2002+7=2009? Her age difference between BCS & BB just doesn't seem to add up.

This subject has been brought up & debated hundreds of times now. Both here & the old IMDb boards.

Basically, it's a retcon on the characters age. It wouldn't have been pratical to cast a toddler as Kaylee. They needed an older child to develop the relationship between her & Mike.

They had cast toddler age actors in the last couple of seasons of Sons of Anarchy (Abel, Jack's son), & Dexter (Harrison, Dexter's son) and anyone who remembers knows that was VERY problematic.
