Was Anybody Else Bothered By Jimmy Getting Beat Up By Young Punks?

I think he said he should've seen it coming a mile away. It's embarrassing for a street-wise adult to get beaten up and robbed like that by three young punks. Slippin' Jimmy probably had about fifty to hundred phones to sell for $40/piece and should've made from $2000 to $4000. He should have had a gun for protection knowing he was selling to drug dealers, motorcycle gangs, druggies, hustlers and the like on the street. In his cons, he had a partner so it was 2-against-1 against a mark usually not the criminal element. If he defended himself and pulled out a gun against the punks and they ran, then Jimmy would've got more street cred and respect from me. In his dealings with Mike and Tuco, he should've known a gun was required.

No because I paid enough attention to know where he is now, and when he explained to Kim how he should have seen it coming from a mile away.

Carrying a gun is not his style. It's a big part of what makes him an Interesting character. He talks himself in and out of trouble. If he were aware those guys were gonna hit him, he would have changed something up and/or figured a way to talk them into something he would benefit from.

Okay, I can buy this argument as to why Jimmy wasn't carrying a gun when confronted by the young punks again. It's similar to Mike not carrying a gun when he interviewed for the protection job with the baseball card guy. However, I would think Jimmy would reconsider the next time if he continues to sell burner phones just as Mike ended up carrying a gun.

Looks like he worked it out his own way. lol

It did bother me so much it was painful to watch on second viewing. And the third. Out of all the things that happen on the show I hate seeing Jimmy outsmarted. Especially by some young punks! I immediately thought that maybe Kim will represent one of them and Jimmy would get his revenge. And I wanted it to happen. And then I remembered that's not Jimmy's way. That's Chuck.

It bothered me so much that he lost all that money he made. But Jimmy cared less about the money and more about Slippin' Jimmy slipping.

I saw it coming from a mile away and I'm not now, nor am I a former street-wise person. So it didn't seem plausible that Jimmy wouldn't think, "Hey! This is a lot of cash that I'm carrying around in a dark, unsafe area and everyone around has been watching me take cash."

It did at first, but after watching the Mon Sep 10 episode, not so much.
