I started phasing out early in Season 3, sort of half watched the rest of the season, and finally gave up after thirty minutes of Season 4, Episode 1.
I will probably wait till the show finally ends now and look up the story on YouTube, etc and see if it's worth watching, but nah, life is too short to watching 50 hours of nothing happening, and especially no laughs.

That being said I still watch it hoping they will speed it up

shareI'm usually not a fan of prequels, mainly because they ruin great characters when they go that route (Darth Vader, anyone?).
With this show, I've been delightfully surprised. I honestly thought I'd get halfway through season 1 and then lose interest. That hasn't happened. The dysfunction between Jimmy and Chuck was fascinating to watch. His touch-and-go friendship/relationship with Kim, his association of convenience with Mike and the way he connects with everyday people, make Jimmy/Saul an even better character than the one we skimmed the surface with in Breaking Bad.
Quite frankly, I can't wait to watch season 4. Here's hoping they keep doing it justice!

This is one of the best shows to ever appear on television. Arguably even better than Breaking Bad.
But I can understand why anyone with a short attention span would be frustrated by the slow pace of the show. Better Call Saul depends on deep character development and lots of tension and suspense. This kind of show is not for everyone, especially those who like the instant gratification of action/adventure shows.
Better Call Saul is more like a psychological thriller. It probably isn't your cup of tea, but I love it.
Except it doesn't have any of that. There is no suspense because we know how it ends for all the main characters, except Kim. It hasn't developed a character since S2, except maybe Chuck. In fact, it is you that deeply misunderstands this show. Chuck was always right, Jimmy is a loser, a crook, he will always choose the shortcut, he will always gamble until he loses. This isn't about how Jimmy becomes a criminal lawyer, it's about a deeply flawed guy in a continuous downward spiral.
shareLove it and hang out for it each week, it is akin to reading a fine novel that as you turn each page you get to know the story of all involved bit by bit. Though in some ways better because you get to soak in the visuals (the silent scenes) rather than needing to have those visuals told to you as a novel would. I'm in no hurry and am glad it comes out week by week rather than like a Netflix dump of all episodes, as I don't think I'd be able to not binge watch the show. Which I believe would be to the show's detriment as having a week to sit on and think about an episode is also akin to putting the novel down and thinking I've got to let this soak in before I read on.
Of course this being Season 4 much like Breaking Bad did the pace may pick-up soon, as Breaking Bad Season 4 began to tie together all the things we learnt in seasons 1, 2 and 3, so same creators may mean a similar story structure.
