So could Gus....

Realistically find the placebo pills in the river?

reply

No. He doesn't need proof though, they are outlaws and Nacho is low on the totem pole.

reply

Probably not but I doubt that's the point. What Victor witnessed while tailing Nacho (Likely on Fring's orders) was probably enough. It will be interesting to see where they go with this. I'm guessing it's more likely Gus will use this as some sort of leverage over Nacho rather than seeking reprisal on Nacho for interfering with Fring's elaborate revenge scheme on Hector.

On the other hand, why would Gus had any suspicion. Hector was old, sick and had a crisis. His death made perfect sense. No reason to suspect Nacho, no reason to tail him. Even throwing some garbage from a bridge does not look very suspicious.

At the end of last season after they all witnessed Hector's stroke, Gus noticed Nacho's switching of the placebo pills with the real medication that Hector had spilled on the ground. That's why he was suspicious and had him followed. It's somewhat of a blink and you'll miss it kind of moment but Gus was clearly eyeing him suspiciously as he was handling the pills.
