Imo Kim probably dies

Shes never brought up in Breaking Bad at all as we all know, i mean i can't picture her never coming back into Jimmy's life again in Breaking Bad, he seems like the only person shes close to and has no one else. So whenever he becomes Saul and gets his office as a criminal lawyer i find it hard to think she'd never come around him again at anytime.

She has to die in some way imo, perhaps her death is what drives Jimmy to become more and more Saul since she is really the only person left who cares about him. Once Kim's gone who's he got? No one.

I just don't see some argument or something driving Kim away from him for the rest of her life, i just don't see what he could do that would make that happen.

Maybe she starts a secret drug empire and forces Jimmy to help her launder the money. When she gets caught, she has to take a new identity as a manager of a Blockbuster in Omaha where one day in the not too distant future, she is reunited with Jimmy.

reply

Maybe, and you make a good point. I hope not. I think people getting killed is sort of the easy way out to solve a problem. I hope it is much more profound than that.

reply

I don't think she dies. If I were directing it or writing the script, We know that Jimmy/Saul gets a fake name/id and starts over. He has a job at a cinnabon at a mall. He flashes back to pre-beaking bad. I think the very last episode, I would have him back in real time working at the cinnabon and Kim walking up and making an order. He notices her and longingly wants to go tell her that it is him, but reluctantly decides not too. ...end of series

reply

I think your proposed ending would be very effective, but a total downer. I'd want to see them together. Also, no matter what jimmy/saul has done, he really isn't a bad person, deserving of a lengthy punishment.

reply

We don't really see any of Saul's personal life in BB, and he is more of a side character than a main character. Plenty of reason Kim should still be alive, just never shows up at Saul's office when Walt, Jesse, Mike, etc, are there.

Notice in BCS, Kim never shows up when Jimmy's hanging out with Mike either.

reply

true, but we do know when he gets a new ID, he ends up alone in an apartment.. My guess, she wasn't thought of as a character until BCS started. definitely not during B.B.

reply

Indeed, I am hoping for the Season 4 start (if there is one) when we see Gene in black & white, an answer, even a minimal one, as to what happened with Kim can be provided.

reply

Yes, the producers have mentioned they are taking Saul and some of the other characters from Breaking Bad and adding layers to them while introducing new characters and filling out some of the known backstories. In one episode of Breaking Bad, he said his 2nd wife cheated on him, but we haven't seen anything about Jimmy's wives, so he very well could have been making that up.

reply

We think Kim will die because she got into a serious accident when she could have been killed. However, what's happening right now is how people are breaking bad in BCS. We see Jimmy has shot himself in the foot trying to get Mrs. Landry back with her friends. It means his career seems to in its death throes. Chuck could be dead and I hope he's dead because we had the "exit" sign episode. What an a-hole. The only thing left is who did he leave his money to. I think we have Mrs. Landry as a potential victim because the show gave clues about things to so with her "heart." Then there is Mike and his daughter-in-law and granddaughter. This is the only good that he has left in his criminal life now. The ex-cop is gone. He's headed for a fall, too, as he got his security consultant role with Madrigal in that episode. Probably jail for him would be worse than being killed by opposing gang members.

reply

Are they maybe suggesting deeper problems with Kim. Maybe we eventually finds out that she has cancer which is causing these blackouts. So she dies and hence why we never hear about her in BB.

reply

To me Jimmy and Kim seem like they're all each other has, they have no one else they care about in their lives, so i dunno i just don't see what Jimmy could do that would have her never seeing him again. Thats why i just think it makes more sense that she dies in some way.

I've seen Bob say in interviews that Jimmy can't fully become Saul until Kim is out of the way, which is why i think her dying is getting her outta the way and the driving force behind Jimmy fully becoming Saul and not having anyone he cares about with him anymore.

reply

I don't want Kim to die because Chuck is dead, but will come back in flashback scenes (says Gilligan). Kim is the loner type so I'd like to see some backstory on her. Where's her family? How did she become a lawyer? Why did she date a mail clerk at HHM?

reply

I think eventually, Jimmy will cross a line that lets Kim know he has no way of going back. She leaves him because she knows he is going down a path she won't follow.

reply

Yeah that could very well happen, i guess thats probably the two options, she dies or she can't be around Jimmy anymore because of something he does. I still think she dies though, i just don't see what horrible thing he can do to where he never even attempts to call her or get in contact with her after everything in BB. He's lonely, pathetic and pretty much just existing as Gene at the cinnabun store, so you'd think he'd say screw it and call her or something, i dunno.

reply

Maybe he does call her. As someone else stated in this thread, catching up with Kim in the final moments of the last episode might be good. We see him passing out as Gene at the start of season 3 and we see nothing else from Gene for the rest of the season. I'm wondering if that will play in to why he would call her. Maybe he has cancer or something and is calling her to reconnect.

reply

Yeah that would be cool, i just want clarification on what becomes of Kim, hopefully we find out next season.

reply

Gonna be sad. I'm digging pajama bottom hair down Kim right now.
