Christ this was bad

It's like they can't do comedy or something. Must be all the amateur comedians they keep getting. They have a ton of those on Faux Newz as recurring guest characters to do the only thing they mostly know how to do, insult comedy. This movie is comparable to a Adam Sandler Jack and Jill (2011) style of comedy, not the better movies he has done.

I'm 1 hour in and I disagree.
The casting is not great - they REALLY need to work on that. The writing though - while crappy for 90 percent of the time, is actually funny for the other 10 percent. Some of the best bits come from the TV station scenes.

As far as comedies go, 10 percent funny is actually very good, when compared to the recent 'comedy' films. There are some great comedy films out there - films like airplane, hot shots, star balls - were like 60 percent funny - as nearly every scene had a comedic element either in the foreground, background or in the dialogue. 60 percent funny is a very high percentage when compared to the 10 percent funny scenes found here. At the same time, it has become the norm for the modern comedies to barely break 2 percent mark, so this film kills it in that regard.

Adam Sandler films are in that '2 percent funny' segment of comedy films.

Sounds like you watched this review instead of the movie! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9x_d8AcBUk&t=275s

Just saw it, it's not horrible - I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

Favourite line from a fight scene - "Welcome to Epstein's Island - you know too much - Clintoned!"

Comes off as a Hallmark movie with an above average budget and some writers who aren't quite at a B level of comedy.

What's odd is that more of these types of movies aren't being made - what's out there is a goldmine of stupidity waiting to be mined.

It does show that movies can be made outside of Hollywood.
