Ben Shapiro destroys the entire premise of his own movie and the anti-trans panic

...almost by accident, it seems. Spectacular.

BEN SHAPIRO (Host): I think I suggested to the Crain boys that they do this as a doc. I originally went to them and I said "you guys should like go try out for a bunch of ladies' leagues." And that became not possible because as it turns out most ladies' leagues don't allow in actual men - men - and they weren't willing to go the full distance in terms of what it would require in order to - you know, the actual hormone treatments and everything to play in some of the ladies' leagues. But, in any case, it turned into this"

Except it is known that biological men do compete in womens sports.

Well IDK, it was just the base for a comedy story.

I’m glad to hear some women’s leagues are fighting back against this. It’s a start. But it still does go on.

This guy for example identified as a women to enter a powerlifting competition, and he did it just to prove a point.

However, the union’s competition registration policy states that a competitor’s “government-issued photo identification (excluding Youth lifters) must be verified during the weigh-in or equipment check, including date of birth, province, and gender at all competitions.”

It is unclear if Silverberg presented a government-issued ID identifying him as a female or was required to.

It wouldn’t be hard to get an ID in Canada. Laura Southern changed her gender to male just to show how easy it is.

But I don’t think anyone asked him for one. As a competitive lifter myself, you just have to fill out and application to join that particular league, and then when you register, you choose how you will be competing (tested, untested, bench only, full power, open, or age restricted, and of course gender)

🤣

Shapiro didn't "destroy" anything. It's a fact that there are men competing in almost every kind of women's sports.

He addresses this in a new video. It's time stamped at the relevant part for you

Some Highlights for lazy people.

-13:55 He explains the premise of the movie was based on Olympic 3 on 3 basketball, and there are no hormone restrictions. But it wouldve been too late for them to enter at that point. That alone should end this topic

-Ben says the movie and documentary aren't mutually exclusive, so they may still attempt it at some point.

-The comment was about womens leagues around Nashville Tennessee, where the movie was filmed. They didn't do a ton of research to try and find womens leagues that allow men with no hormone therapy.

-He makes the point that if men don't have a biological advantage over women, then why do men need hormone therapy to compete with women?
