Just Stop

Stop it, Hollywood. Stop it, viewers. Just stop already. There isn't even a heavy name-brand recognition here. I'm sure there are some great scripts sitting in a pile waiting to be shot for the first time instead of carelessly churning out watered-down remakes of movies that got it perfect the first time.

If you're going to be this lazy and careless, why not save money and just re-screen the originals? It'll be a better watch and won't cost you anything to make.

People, stop paying money for lousy remakes. If there are massively glowing reviews for a remake/reboot/30-year-later forced sequel, even this one, I'll see it, but I will not pay any money for lazy remakes.

The scary thing is, is you don't want most of these comic book/video game/remake directors touching any new and original scripts. You'll have to bring in the few old timers left that know cinematography to direct any new and original idea films.

Hell, tell me you would even recognize any of Ridley Scott's movies in the last ten years if his name weren't in the credits.

EDIT: Jacob's Ladder is a perfect example of using practical effects instead of CGI. If the original JL were made today, the producers would be breathing down Adrian Lyne's neck to use CGI because it's cheaper now.
