i think i worked out why this has such a stellar cast
most of the actors must've been in the uk shooting superhero movies at Pinewood so instead of twiddling their thumbs sitting in make up trailers waiting for the next stunt FX heavy scene their agents said 'hey you could do this stdvd crime movie on your days off':
