My review (pasted)

With Ariel Vroman?s follow-up to 2012?s The Iceman, it?s obvious that he?s matured in his efforts as a director. This action-packed thriller brings a smooth and fresh ride for audiences that are seeking something to watch at the cinema?s in the weeks to follow it?s release. So be sure to keep this filmmaker under your radar.

This redemption story follows  a man that has no care for the world around him until he?s involuntarily subjected to a procedure that gives him knowledge and skill of a former CIA operative in hopes of gaining information that might save the world. The director does a good job at lining this up down the story-line, showing the capabilities this Criminal has of being a no-good, mean-mugging ******* who only looks out for himself, transforming into a man who knows emotion and remorse. This kind of film has you questioning your morals, with the way you root for someone who in real life you wouldn?t want to meet in a dark alley.

It?s refreshing, in a sense. I mean sure, we get some Hollywood cliches like the main antagonist of the film. Paired with new ideas, or rather takes on certain old ideas but done and executed with a much better formula. This movie will certainly keep you on the edge of your seat, reeling for more as you go deeper into the dark underworld that is the life of spies and insidious criminal activity. Some points it?ll make you scream ?**** yeah!? while others it?ll make you not take for granted what love and family you have at home.

The cast does a great job at putting their characters onto the silver screen, although certain characters like Tommy Lee Jones and Alice Eve didn?t get as much screen time as I think they deserved. Who knew Mr. Lee could be portrayed as a believable mad scientist instead of a ?memory-erasing? Alien fighter?

For someone like me, this film was a breath of fresh air and a very good film for Kevin Costner to make his official Mr. Bad-*** come-back. I suggest you get to the cinema when it hits theaters this Friday (4/15/16) and check it out.
