Mr Oldman has for some time bemoaned that he's taken roles in Hollywood films he didn't particularly rate in order to fund his own projects and whatever else it is that he does.
This would certainly seem to apply to Criminal, as his performance is absolutely atrocious. He didn't phone this in, he used a carrier pigeon.
Horrible - and demeaning to an actor of his ability.
I very much agree, watched it last night.
2 lines stand out. First when they were doing the surgery and the doctors wanted to stop as Costner might die. Oldman starts screaming he doesn't care if he died, seemed out of place.
Second line was near the end of them film when Oldman is talking to Costner in the ambulance trying to stop him giving the evil guy the USB stick. Oldman has almost talked Costner round but then he says he doesn't care if the wife and daughter die in a rather rude way which again seemed really out of place, surely he knows Costner cares about them!!!
To be fair if its not a top notch film, you know you won't be getting proper Oldmam.
Yeah, when he doesn't have much of a character to play, he is bad.
