I Loved This Movie!

First of all, most of the actors were all as old or older than me. I grew up with them. That is a plus right there.

I loved Costner as the grumpy lead in Water World. I applauded when he chucked that odious child in the water. LOL. I did. I know. I am bad...

But, Costner plays mean and grumpy WELL. I like him in those roles..

This role had a twist that I really thought was well done and played by him.

Sorry, critics. I was 100% entertained. The film is no Oscar winner, but surely a 7.5 or greater movie. I rated it an 8 because everything about the movie appealed to me.

BTW,I just showed up at a theater and picked this movie because it was showing right when I arrived. Perfect. I looked it up on my phone and saw the low IMDB rating. But then I went to recent reviews by movie goers, MOST of whom loved it. So I took the plunge. I was very glad I did.

I have to admit that at my first screening, I did not love it. I just liked it.

When I went a second time, I totally loved it.

Kevin Costner has been my favorite actor/director since I was a kid and he blew me away as Jerico.

What a powerful performance.

Everybody I've talked to has enjoyed this film.

Glad to see some praise for it because it's WAY better than what the critics are saying. 31/100 on RT? GTFO.

My only real complaint is the script. There must be a blink-and-you-miss-it moment early on where they explain exactly who The Dutchman is . . . and I missed it. I spent most of the first half of the movie trying to figure out just WHO this f--king guy is and why everyone wants him.

I took a bathroom break about halfway through, pulled up the Wikipedia page, and read the first paragraph on the plot and that's when everything clicked. I really think they could've used a bit more exposition on that.

But other than that one complaint, yeah, I found it to be a unique and original high-concept action film with some great performances.
