Subtitles please.

Is it just me or does anyone else struggle to understand Logan Marshall Green? His delivery in the southern drawl makes him almost incomprehensible. I'm trying to enjoy the show but I only understand about half of what he says.

CC has been around for at least 20 years, every TV and cable / DISH DVR has CC

The most important thing is sincerity. If you can fake that you've got it made.

If boxing is a manly sport why do they fight for a purse?

reply

I always have cc on, and yes - it can be a challenge understand what Mac says (especially if he mutters something).

reply

I never saw thought I would use it when it first came out, but now I use it all the time because actors mumble a lot.

your right we are struggling also it's very frustrating

reply

not really. why wouldn't there be subtitles though, don't all shows have it?

Plot hole - Aspect of a film that is misunderstood or missed while using your smart phone.

reply

Not if you download the episodes and don't know where to find the subtitles.

reply

i assumed he was talking about TV. but many release sites pack them in. or you can just google the popular subtitle websites.

reply

Yes he is very hard to understand on the show. I haven't read the books but I assume that's part of the character.

reply

I managed to understand him fine and I'm English. I suppose that puts me at an advantage as we are used to listing to different accents all the time?

reply

He's from South Carolina, so I don't know if there's a massive difference in accents between there and West Tennesse, so he may not have been trying too much. I didn't struggle with it.
On the other hand Peter Mullen, being a Scot, was unintelligible for about 70% of the time. He's a great actor but for me he didn't pull off the southern drawl accent too well. The Aussie actor did a decent job though, as did the the female lead (South African) and the black waitress (British).

reply

It does make you wonder why they didn't find any American actors for these roles, maybe ones with the right accents, from the right area. But I suppose that is what acting is about, doing something different, not being yourself. I say "well done" to them all.
