Same way I feel Batfleck should been introduced in his own movie even through it may seem too soon after Dark Knight Rises.
The whole movie feels like three or five movies shoved into one movie.
There are Snyder fans that are like "Oh no! Batman fighting Superman is the most obvious way to go after MOS", of course they're ignoring that they planned MOS 2 during MOS but changed to BVS.
Firstly, I've been hoping for a proper sequel to Man of Steel for almost a decade. Secondly, I honestly have no problem with adding Batman BUT Snyder should've just stuck with ONE single story.

This right here was the problem. He tried to fit in so many iconic comics into ONE single movie! He took stuff from Kingdom Come Superman, The Dark Knight Returns & Death of Superman to name a couple
Just pick one freaking story & adapt THAT! Not all of them at once. And all that plus setting up the new Justice League movie & characters. Movie tried to do WAY too much.
Of Snyder fans would be like "excuse me Avengers Infinity War and Endgame have multiple storylines and are three hours so what is your point? kill yourself, I love the movie, it has sick action" well unlike the MCU there was no instant impression with the DCEU or critical acclaim.
As said before many times the negatives receptions of BVS and JL have killed all hope of a MOS 2 or solo Batfleck, to this day there's no talk, no interest or any wheels turning in trying to get a MOS 2 out.
It seems WB have moved on from Superman for now. The new Flash movie looks like it's going to set the path for the DCEU going forward; we've got Affleck returning for his swansong as Batman, Keaton returning as Batman (and supposedly taking Batfleck's place in the DCEU), and a Supergirl who is possibly Superman and Lois's daughter from an alternate timeline. With Cavill's people confirming he's not involved in the movie, I can see WB making this Supergirl their big screen Kryptonian (which was rumoured about 18 months ago), leaving Superman to Tyler Hoechlin in the Superman and Lois CW show (which has been very well received).
Cavill is out, Black Superman is in. Which one? No idea. Maybe it's a black Clark Kent or the actual Black Supermen from the comics. Nothing confirmed yet.
All we know for now is Ta-Nehisi Coates is working on a script to be produced by JJ Abrams for the big screen. And Michael B. Jordan is working on a different, unrelated Superman project for HBO Max
They'll probably reveal some details at DC Fandome event next month
I honestly think this one is gonna stick. They're looking for diversity & stuff. I'm gonna be genuinely surprised if at least one of the 2 projects doesn't happen
Honestly, at this point, I think the suits at WB are just throwing darts at the board & seeing what sticks.
JJ Abrams is apparently heading a bunch of DC projects. How do feel about that or him in general?
Personally, I would've been way more excited for this if it was 10 years ago but now, JJ Abrams being attached to a project doesn't really fill me with excitement
I guess DC's Fandome event might give us some answers on that.
Personally, I stopped giving a shit when they 'booted' off Cavill. Really loved him as the Man of Steel. Wish he got a well written Superman film that he truly deserved.
Cavill unfortunately is not likely to come back even if they change their minds about Abrams/Coates, if we ever get a proper Superman film is still gonna be a long time.
Looking at the Superman & Lois show makes you wonder why they didn't anything better with DCEU Superman.
I love the old "he isn't relevant" excuse by WB. Yeah, a buttload of comics would like to have a word with ya. Also, Neil Gaiman put it best, "You don't make it relevant, You make it inspiring"
And my favorite one, "He's too much of a goody two shoes character" & people only like "damaged, broken or brooding characters". Yeah, I would buy that if it wasn't for freaking Captain America. Marvel has done wonders with a "Boy Scout" character. Never thought I'd say this a decade ago but Steve Rogers is my fave character in the MCU
I feel like WB just don't know what to do with Superman on the big screen. And they honestly believe that changing his face is gonna solve all their problems with Superman. Yeah, that was the issue, his race.
Maybe a Lois & Clark inspired movie would be an easier way to go.
This! Give us a more grounded Superman story. Show more of his journalist side.
I keep hearing good things about Superman & Lois. It's definitely on watchlist. Gotta check it & also Stargirl. I hear it's good as well. 🤷‍♂️

A more ground take would be a logical way to go, Matt Reeves Batman is doing a ground take like Nolan. More of his journalist life, no fortress origin and suit made by himself that looks similar to MCU Captain America.
You're right there were definitely talks, although I thought the HBO Max idea was for a series, instead of the proposed big screen movie. Is that not the case? I haven't heard anything of late. Last thing I did hear was that it likely wouldn't be Superman as in Clark Kent, but one from elsewhere in the Multiverse, possibly Calvin Ellis.
I did some googling after replying to your comment. Reportedly, it's gonna be a limited series. And apparently, Jordan doesn't just wanna do a black version of the main Clark Kent/Kal-El Superman. He's rumored to wanna play Val-Zod Superman
Which I honestly love. I'm sorry but I absolutely hate it when they change the race of an existing character when there are actual characters of color right freaking there. Characters that deserve to be adapted. Just being ignored.
Especially when there are so many that deserve their time to shine. Like Vixen for example. I've been hoping for a live action Vixen movie since the Justice League Unlimited tv show. Love her!

They're acting like there's a huge demand for more JL films and that all Snyder directed films are flawless, they believe that demanding more films is just an on paper theory that wouldn't stand a chance in real life.
Not gonna lie, I honestly love a bunch of Snyder's films. I liked the Snyder Cut of JL. I liked (most of) Man of Steel. I loved Watchmen & 300.
But it's genuinely scary how his fans 'worship' him & defend his work. His work is not without flaws. Calling anything he touches a "Masterpiece" is so ridiculous & hilarious
With The Batman, Avengers Infinity War and Endgame all felt like a TV mini series chapter by chapter, BVS had scenes that lagged for ten minutes to fit a 3 hour runtime like a historical drama.
If DC knew how to take their time and build like Marvel does, there would have been a stand-alone Aflfeck Batman movie, followed by a MOS 2, and THEN BVS.
If MOS 2 and solo Affleck Batman film had been made in 2015/2016 instead of BVS things could've been different.
But Snyder fans are like "Oh fuck you I love the movie, BVS was the most logical step after MOS, it has sick special effects and action".
Kind of makes you miss the old days were franchise movies didn't have expanded universes or trilogies built into their plots, each and every instalment had to be stand alone just in case there isn't going to be more sequels.
