The Depths of BvS's failures finally revealed in a Number!

lol when all said and done BvS made WB 105 Million dollars.

WB watches The Avengers make 1.5 Billion....Immediately does a 180 and decides they want A DC Cinematic Universe(after years of saying they Didn't), Decide to Green light BvS, makes sure Snyder puts all the J.L characters in The Movie, even Forces the God Awful "Dawn of JUSTICE" in the title to sell the movie as a J.L movie, decides to green light a 250 Million dollar budget that they knew would be upwards of 350-400 Million after Promoting....and Yep they clearly did all this with the intentions of making UMMmmmmM 100 Million dollars.

You dont spend the kinda of money WB spent on BvS with the hopes of making a small profit.

When you spend Upwards of 400 Million dollars of a film, its because you have an absolute certainty that Film is going to be a 1 Billion + blockbuster that going to make HUNDREDS of Millions of dollars in PROFITS.

lol everyone knew BvS didn't live up to expectations, everyone has known WB didn't make near the Profit they wanted or should have, this is nothing new...But what is new, is we now have a Number on it.

and Its an awful number...

WB basically invested 400 Million dollars to make ONLY 100 million...and when you consider the damage The Movie has done to the DCEU brand and The characters, lol that 100 million in profit simply isn't worth the risk.

The Batman character is now no longer a billion dollar character, Lex Luthor is completely ruined and will have to be recast if they want to go forward with him, Superman got brutally beat down by Batman for 6 mins and lost Cleanly lost to Batman, Cavill was once again wooden ....

and Most horrifically. Hype, excitement and Word of Mouth for Justice League was literally crippled by The Universal Hatred for BvS...You literally could not be going into a Justice League movie with less hype if you intentionally tried...like seriously If Marvel intentionally tried to sabotage WB and The movie J.L...They literally could not do a better job of killing all hype,anticipated and excitement as WB did With 2 Universally hated DCEU films in BvS and Suicide Squad...

lol thats what makes BvS such a colossal Failure...It didn't just badly under perform and not live up to expectations...

But it was so awful, It literally Crippled another movie in J.L...

BOTH BvS and Justice League had "Avengers 1.5 Billion dollar" Potential...but BvS's universal hatred and POISONOUS word of mouth With killed BOTH BvS and Justice League's Potential.

A 1.5 Billion dollar gross is now not even in the realm of possibility for J.L...at this point, a 1 Billion + gross would seem like a Win and huge Improvement and if you think about that, its crazy thats how low expectations are now...

The Avengers and its sequel BOTH made 1.4 Billion +...Its inexcusable for A J.L film With the 2 biggest heroes of all time to be making 400-600 Million dollars less...

somehow were actually at place now where people would be happy if Justice League makes 400 Million dollars less than An Avengers film.

thats the damage BvS has done, Its literally not even in people minds anymore that Justice League could perform like An Avengers film....expectations are so low, so damaged, most well expect J.L to make BvS type money and if J.L did somehow get close to 1 Billion it would seem like an improvement.

the facts are Justice League should be doing between 1.2-1.5 Billion...that is its box office Potential....

and BvS simply crippled it, now it wont get within 400 Million dollars of its potential or of an Avengers film.

BvS turned out to be a Disaster, spending 400 Million to make 100 Million is an absurd Investment and when you factor in the damage The Movie itself did to The DCEU brand,characters and Future Movies....100 Million in Profit simply is not worth the damage done and money spend.

PS I actually think J.L will make Less than BvS....

I think after BOth BvS and Suicide Squad, Word of Mouth is shot...Its going to take SEVERAL Good to great DCEU films to get audiences trust back...

If J.L is awful and get similar reviews to BvS(somewhere between 25-40% on RT)...I see J.L making 750-800 Million..which is a disaster

If J.L is decent and gets decent reviews(somewhere between 60-75% on RT)...I see J.L making 850-900 Million..which is still a disaster

If J.L is very good to Great and gets good reviews(somewhere between 80-90% on RT)...I see J.L making 900 M to 1 Billion..which is disappointing but an improvement

due to The Universal hatred and Poisonous Word of Mouth of BvS...Justice League literally have to be one of the greatest CBM's ever to make over 1 Billion and to live up to its potential.... Justice League would need to have The Dark Knight and The Avengers Type Word of Mouth to get people invested and get Audiences back after BvS..If Justice League somehow Impossibly was as great as those movies, Then IMO 1 Billion + is Possible

lol wait a minute did you just try and brag that A film that was universally hated, A film that got absolute awful reviews,Audience Scores and ratings, A film that was so bad, The Studio brought in An Editing company to try and completely recut the film in an attempt to savage the movie....did you just say "Ummm it made more than Dr S"

lol low standard you got there buddy....You seem to be exactly whats wrong with The DCEU and their films...I mean seriously you dont have to expect Greatness out of the films, but how about about you have just a little bit of standards or expectations, I dont think its too much to ask to expect A film that gets at least decent reviews, I dont think its too much to hope for a film thats not so terrible they have to cut nearly all of Letos scenes because he was so awful as The Joker they wanted to cut him out of the film, I dont think its too much to ask to hope for a film that does get butchered and sabotaged in post production by THE STUDIOS ITSELF.

Just think how happy you'd be if, Suicide Squad not only beat Dr. S but also wasn't nominated for Razzies!, think how happy you'd be if Suicide Squad didn't collapse at the box office in its 2nd weekend due to awful word of Mouth,think how happy you'd be If The director of the movie itself didn't Pen An ESSAY basically Apologizing for how awful the movie turned out...think how great that Beating Dr S would be if the Movie wasn't voted The worst CBM of the year in nearly every "Best CBM's of the year" lists

I'm serious you are embarrassing, I get it, your A DC fan...I'm a DC fan, I love both Marvel and DC...BvS was my most anticipated movie of the year...

But theres something wrong with you, for you to blindly defend DC and A movie like Suicide Squad....for you to literally throw out the absolute 1 thing about Suicide Squad that is remotely positive, and not be upset about the absolute disaster that was Suicide Squad is quite SICK.

for you to be so invested that in your mind its okay that Suicide Squad was trainwreck just as long as it beat Marvel's Dr S....your just SAD.

Me, I'm angry as a Marvel and DC fan, I get angry when movies I greatly anticipated turn out awful.

there truly are no words to describe my excitement for BvS...BvS truly was a once in a lifetime film...and when you think about what we got, when read about what went on behind the scenes, how WB literally had no plan or no clue what they were doing, When you sell A movie for 3 years on "The FIGHT"...the epic fight between Batman and Superman and then that fight ends up being a 6 mins beatdown of Batman destroying Superman and it ends with the single bigger creative failure of all time in "Martha"...you have the 2 biggest heroes of all time, and the absolute best you can do, the best you can write to have these heroes end their fight and come together is "I'm going to kill you, wait , ours moms have the same name, lets be friends", thats UNFORGIVABLE...when you literally do one of the worst miscast of all time and cast Jess as Lex Luthor and then butcher the film so badly in The editing room that you have to release a completely different cut of the film on Blu ray just so people can fully understand what the Villains motives were....when all things these happen, You should be Angry....not finding the 1 remotely positive things that a DC film beat a marvel film.

this isn't just DC....Age Of Ultron was my most anticipated movie of all time....and my god that movie was awful, I've never been more disappointing leaving a theater than I was after seeing AOU....I was angry, I couldn't believe Marvel screwed up that badly with AOU....and for the next few months a bitched about it....but I'll you what I didn't do, I didn't start saying or believing "AOU still made more than The Dark Knight Rises"...I wasn't so desperate or so Obsessed that I started falling back on "well the movie was a disaster but at least it beat a DC film"

bubbaathegut....you need help and IMO you are exact whats your with the DCEU...instead of being upset and angry at Suicide Squad being a disaster in every way, your so DC biased, you'll glady continue watching DC trainwrecks and be happy just as long as the beat a Marvel Film.

Well, I reckon Bill is a DC fan, so if they are at least passable movies (mainly WW), he will probably go easy on them. However, I do think DCEU has no room for passable/mediocre movies any more. For me they are in the zone: "They deliver or they do not..."

But, yeah--they had three films thus far, all with their A-list characters, and none of them hit as hard as they should in ANY sense.

It's true but sad. Your wording made it looks like a achievement or something, but for me as a DC fan, it makes me sad.

WB should just went straight into JL movie in 2013 straight after TDKR, instead of mucking around with MoS and BvS. Suicide Squad was worth to try, but maybe AFTER proper JL movie first and wait for a better idea for an oponent than a generic giant light pillar to the sky yet again.

Now thaks to BvS, Superman is dead (again) and won't participate in the JL movie which was even sadder than I previously thought.

And if they revive Superman (again) at the end of JL, that would be too predictable and lame. But if they don't, Superman is a too big name to be told to stay dead. I love Superman, I don't want him to be absent in DC movies.

WB really has painted themselves into a corner here.

And the "Wonder Woman" film is getting bad buzz, and doesn't it come out before the JL film? If it's true, there will be that much less interest in JL, which has got to be massively expensive to make. How the heck can they salvage their plans for an ongoing series of films if people have given up on the films by the time JL comes out?

Honestly, I think the whole series is in the wrong hands, and there's no saving it from people who just aren't interested in making good movies. Or writing good scripts, finding good directors, or casting the right actors. Given those issues, I don't think bringing the films out in a different order would have done a lot of good, but it's always fun to speculate.

True. I don't even want to think how WB would salvage this irrevocable mess they did. If I were them, I would reboot everything by introducing Multiverse to the general public audience and starting over with the Injustice movie. I think it's the most interesting story a superhero movie can come up these days.

But this time please make it right. Get all new cast, better script, better director, and most importantly stop setting up character introductions for future installments like half of BvS runtime was for. Which ironically ruins the chance those future installments to shine. And stop flashbacking to Batman's dead parents. They're dead. We already knew!

Do something new! Geez! Don't bring any light pillar to the sky villain ever again. Or world destruction. Or ridiculously overpowered ancient space gods (Dormammu, Apokolips, etc.) that want world destruction. Why every superhero story has to be about saving the entire planet from ultimate destruction?

Ah.. rants. Rants are my only relief. Lol.

I really liked mos and bvs. They are some of my fave comic movies because I love snyders style. But I appreciate your critique. 25% is a pretty good return on investment. Obviously it's not avengers money but I'd take 25%. I disagree with almost all of your opinions on these movies. I love them and look forward to JL greatly as I think many Comic fans do as well

Believe it or not, I'm very specific about what I say, I'm well aware Not everyone Hates MOS,BvS or Suicide Squad....

But Its also undeniable that The MAJORITY did not like these movies, That they got An Awful Reception.

thats why when I talk about them, I can say they are awful, Or People hated them, Because My statements are based on facts, I'm statements are backed up by the majority consensus

your well within in your rights disagree, But In this case, it makes you part of a small Minority who disagree, The Overwhelmingly Majority Did not like BvS and Suicide Squad, Based on anyway you judge a movie from reviews,ratings,scores,audience scores and box office(BvS and SS had Historically awful Drops due to awful Word of mouth), The Overwhelming Majority did not like these movies...

so again I have no problem with you disagreeing, I too often disagree with The Majority Consensus, for example I love the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles movie(The one Micheal Bay Produced), even Though The Majority clearly hates it, I'm in the minority here and I except it.

If you love BvS and Suicide Squad Fine, I'm happy for you, If your greatly anticipating J.L even better.

You have 2 Avengers movies that BOTH made at least 1.4 Billion....Yet now were going to get A J.L movie thats going to make between 400-600 Million Less....NO ONE would have Predicted that in 2013....that ONLY became a reality after BvS and Suicide Squad came out to awful reviews,Ratings,Scores and Historic Box office Drops.

Why do you care if I'm in the minority? No I do not admit that. Millions of people love these films. More people on earth do not like iron man, than do like iron man, so if you like iron man, you are in the minority. more people on earth do not like sports, than do like sports, so if you like sports, you are in the minority. More people don't like Beethoven than donlike Beethoven so if you like beethoven are in the minority. Opinions cannot be quantified like race gender or religion. You fucking nazi. You literally sound like every bad guy in every comic ever. I don't particularly like suicide squad the movie but I can't say that makes me in the minority or the majority of anything. It's a fucking opinion. If bvs is awful, as you say, what is suicide squad? If suicide squad is awful, what is Sharknado? If you have something intelligent to say about the film editing or writing fine. But you just want to talk numbers. Like a fucking nazi
