A law officer would never be left alone

What happened to the buddy system? In major American cities, cops always patrol in pairs at night.
Here's a deserted police station and the police brass leaves a single law officer to fend for herself. This is unrealistic. It doesn't matter that she's a woman. Maybe it matters that she's a rookie. In the interest of safety there should have been two law officers left on duty in the deserted police station. And the police brass should not have left a rookie on her first day at the deserted police station. If necessary even a security guard should have been hired to keep the policewoman company. Again it doesn't matter that she is a woman. There should have been a fellow police officer for the safety of the buddy system. Then again, it's strange the haunted police station was not discovered as being haunted, unless it was all covered up.

This would easily happen. 1) it's the stations last day. Everything is already out and the calls will b transferred so no phone call should go through. 2) it's a rookie cop all rookies get put with the *beep* jobs. Having two cops there would b a waste of payroll and time. 3) we don't even know what city they r in. They could b in the middle of nowhere so maybe they never use the buddy system. My hometown and the surrounding cities only have one cop to each car.

I love how you just registered on this site today just so you can defend this movie. No, you're not involved with the movie.

Paranoid much? I typically start any user account out of frustration, whether user related or site related. I typically don't comment out of satisfaction.

OP your actually wrong. They leave officers alone all the time. I was the sole officer on duty in my small town from 10:00pm to 6:00 am.

I am uncomfortable that you were left alone on duty in your small town during the graveyard shift, when the worst people are most active. Then again, it may have been a budgetary issue, that your town could not afford more officers. Perhaps the town could have asked for deputy volunteers to accompany you at night. Even a retiree would have been much better than no one. Or maybe your town is small enough and peaceful enough to warrant just one law enforcement officer. I mean you no offense by that statement. Sometimes a town is lucky...small enough and the residents are good enough people that there's little trouble to deal with.

Also, your small town's police station probably wasn't haunted by malevolent spirits. I write that semi-jest because some people don't believe in human ghosts and evil spirits and some do. Jesus of Nazareth told the doubting Thomas that he was no ghost and since Jesus was no liar, there must be such a thing as ghosts.

Seriously, I would be far more comfortable if you had responsible company with you at the police station during the grave shift. That's when the most evil of human activities tends to occur because bad and very bad people like the darkness.

Most law enforcement agencies in the US are under 50 officers. Most patrol guys work solo patrol. A shift covering an otherwise empty building would be assigned to one officer. Of course after the first WTF moment I would have been in my squad watching the building from the outside.

Assuming the officer from the other station was real when he called, people did know the place was haunted. It wasn't so much a cover up as much as it was just something that no one wanted to talk about.

reply

yup theres always 2. i thought that from the beginning. but im guessing its because the place is haunted and noone wanted to be on duty there. really it should have been a security guard.

I live in Las Vegas and must cops run solo out here.

That was the least of the many problems with this movie.

It's cool if they're schizophrenic.
