If Mercy isn't killed off this season . . .

. . . then it will be an abject failure of the ages. Seriously, she couldn't act half decent to save her mother's life. She belongs in a soap opera.

reply

I agree completely. She can't bite it soon enough.

reply

What purpose does she really serve again aside from feasting on kids? I never really cared for her and the actress is pretty awful.

reply

Mercy is awesome. I preferred it when her head was shaved though.

It's time for Cotton to die. He is beyond annoying at this point.

reply

I'm a big fan of where they are going with Cotton. I think they are going to have him descend into madness and turn into his father. It would make for quite the character arc considering where he started at.

reply

Wasn't he pretty much cray cray in the last season?

reply

I can understand why she was a character in S1. After that - not so much.

reply

I'm not bothered by Mercy. She does serve a purpose to the plot. she is a foil to the other witches who make her promises and betray her. she is very slowly learning more and her power is growing. she is not a natural witch, but a self-made witch. She is different from Mary who as a woman who chose to be a witch had support when she was learning her powers. mercy has always been used and abused, but she is resilient. if they kill her off then she will have been for nothing, but if they go where i think they will go, she will be really strong by the end of the series.

reply

She's betrayed because she won't stay in her lane. She wants to be the most powerful, the Queen etc and does things to make that happen which piss others off.

reply

The actress acting skills doesn't bother me. I think it's convincing enough.
The character doesn't bother me either; I just don't care.
Mercy to me is like a filler character. Sometimes you want to commiserate her but she's just too twisted to be sympathized with.
She craves for power probably because she's sick of being at the bottom of the food chain, but she's too desperate and clueless what's her real status within the environment she belongs, so she's become ungrateful and dared to challenge witches who's at the top of the totem pole even though she's just a novice in terms of witch craft practicing.

I don't see her as a victim or a used tool because she also uses everyone she could've fetched for her own gain...in unsophisticated way.

reply

All this! Except I don't like the actress

I think Mercy is fantastic, and I've never had an issue with her acting. So many people love Mary that they always rooted against Mercy, but she has a lot of reasons to be angry and bitter. And she definitely owes Mary some vengeance for having the town soldiers burn her alive and kill all her followers.

i love mercy and her acting seems fine to me. ive seen much worse. infact tituba is MILES worse than mercy. the thing about this show is we dont quite know where things will end up and thats the joy of this series. i hope mercy doesnt die because i feel now shes finally coming into her own. her powers have clearly grown and shes becoming a tad bit more wiser. all the other withces are veterans but mercy is a young witch and i look forward to seeing her grow.
