What happened to Melanie?

Did she die? How?

I must have zoned out in this part because when April was in the basement with Melanie she closed her eyes and died? and I had no idea what was going on or what had happened to her.

She overdosed on that pill bottle apparently.

Yes she ODed on the pills she was taking. She said she was scared and sorry because she didnt want to go 'up there.' So yeah, she took the easy way out.
