Expect low budget flick and you should be entertained.
Low budget? Compared to most of the horror movies I watch, the budget for this one must have been luxurious.
Personally, I didn't like the movie. Too much humor, not enough scares, and it lacks the eerie, creepy, dark, relentlessly intense atmosphere of most modern horror, low budget or otherwise. It's hard to believe the same team made "Grave Encounters", a real horror movie that I thought was very good.
I guess there's a reason I only started really following horror films around the end of the 1990s. From what some of the comments say, this was apparently a throwback to a style that was popular in the 80s and early 90s. I guess if you like that kind of can't-take-it-seriously half comedy/half horror, then you'll like this. If your idea of a good horror movie is "The Ring" or "Paranormal Activity", maybe not so much.
I will say that the short part of the movie that's closer to pure sci-fi (if you've seen it, you know what I mean) was pretty good, with decent special effects, considering the relatively small budget.
