I know loud jump scares and music is the order of the day, but damn. I was watching on Netflix and it was so loud that everyone else in the house was like what the *beep* are you watching? Turn it down!
I ended up putting the subtitles on because I couldn't hear the dialogue anymore, but I could still hear the freaking music!
Also, it kind of sucked.
This dvd copy I'm watching is doing the same thing. Can't hear the dialogue then get a deafening blast of music. Back and forth every few minutes. I came here to whine about it too. Ha! I'm hoping whomever mixed the sound got jerk slapped by the producers at the very least. Teach 'em somthing.
shareYes, I completely agree, just about the worst job on sound mixing I've ever heard in any movie, and I'm fairly old and have seen a LOT of movies. So yeah. Awful. In fact, there were several scenes that implied extra-loud sound where it actually went much quieter with almost no audio at all. Bizarre, poor mixing from beginning to end.

It's pretty clear the Mean brothers, Vicious brothers (whatever they call themselves) couldn't write a horror screenplay to save themselves, so they decided the next best thing would be to scare the audience, by the use of a cunningly, mixed, overloud, inappropriate soundtrack.🐭
shareI hate movies like this! I had to have the volume up to 30 just to hear the characters speak and then I quickly had to turn it down to 12 when the music came on. Sometimes I just muted it. Pissed me right off!

Yes, the disparity between the dialogue and louder parts such as the overly abundant and trite 'jump scares' and music is ridiculous in the extreme. We switched the film off after about 30 mins, partly because I was tired of adjusting the volume (and the film was retarded). There are many films like this these days, unintelligible dialogue and extremely loud special effects and music, it's annoying and should be a valid reason for money back claims. It's a good job I didn't pay for this nonsense...
