Confused about the sisters...

Can someone please explain about the fire flashbacks, I'm a bit confused about the whole thing! Turner is credited as playing both Vida and Adeline, but I'm pretty sure it's not Turner as the sisters who attempts to kill the baby (who we are led to believe is Adeline)

I think - but can't be sure - that someone else acted as a "double"/stuntperson in that scene. Someone named Ella-Rose (can't recall surname) was listed in the credits.

Turner's character, whose real name was Vida, pretended to be Adeline after the fire that killed the real Adeline, because everyone thoughy she was Adeline (because of their mutual resemblance)

The book implied that it was Emmeline who died.
