is Zootopia post-apocalyptic future earth ?

the movie clearly states that thousands of years ago animals were acted by their insitcts as we know today.
it also states animals evolved.

is it possible the humans used some weapon, eradicate themselves and changed everything to allow evolution of animals. and thousands of years later, Zootopia events happened ?

Maybe some kind of disease wiped out all the primates.

i dont think a disease is enough because in order to let them evolve that way, the earth need to be on in certain conditions.

Don't know, but I'd love to find out how their world came to be and how they all evolved to walk on two legs.

And in case you were too lazy/scared to click the link, it is a link to the first teaser trailer for Zootopia, and the first thing is says (as in this is the first thing you will hear spoken in this preview, which is the first publicly released preview for Zootopia, emphasis on "first" and "first") is "In the world of Zootopia, humans never happened."

Case closed, sealed, and mailed to the Pope who blesses it and sprinkles it with holy water before declaring Ex Cathedra "In the world of Zootopia, humans never happened".

By all means write your fanfics about getting from this world to Zootopia if that be your cup of tea, but the answer is right there and has been for eighteen months and the fact that this discussion is even happening exemplifies so much of what is wrong with humanity.

What about the world of Cars? I need a thorough explanation for why anthropomorphic cars are living in a world without humans.

And I need to know how the world of zootopia fits into the Pixar theory even though it's a Disney film.

These are important questions dammit!

Have you tried watching the preview?

Not sure, but you might find the preview surprisingly enlightening.

But I've already watched the previews. They made too much sense.

I need a more incoherent explanation.

in the teaser the fox is talking. as far as we know, he is speaking of the KNOWN history of his world.
im not saying humans existed yesterday (in the world of zootopia), im talking about the possibility of thousands of years ago which is just enough time for something to be 'forgotten' from history, if certain events happen.

I'm pretty sure it's the narrator, who may well be a fox but not "the" for, or the fox that is on the screen (look closely and you will see his lips aren't moving)

As for "Everything the film told you is wrong", well that's possible of course, but I would maintain that it lies more in the realm of fanfics (the go-to repository for the more out-there ideas) given that it flies in the face of and bends all sorts of double to circumvent established canon.
