A Most Violent Year vs A History of Violence

Which movie is better overall?
A History of Violence. Slam dunk on the first question - A Most Violent Year is not, in fact, very violent. 2nd is subjective, but I liked A History of Violence quite a bit more. (Though I did like this one too).
shareI have to agree that History of Violence is better. A Most Violent Year is in no way a bad film (to me) but it was kind of mistitled, I think. I mean, if you're going to make a movie with that title, set in New York in 1981, it seems odd that this was the subject matter chosen for it. It wasn't at all what i was expecting. I thought it was going to be more gritty and focus on street crime. For the main characters to be wealthy business types really surprised me.
Again, i did like the movie but think the title is very misleading.
