marked fuel
Without getting into the details of the story, I'm just wondering if someone knows how you can mark fuel? Like how would someone know what fuel came from where?

shareI was curious too, so I looked it up and apparently the fuel is actually dyed as a mark to designate its original location. That's what Abel meant when he said the fuel was marked.
shareI came here to ask exactly that.
JMPesce, thanks for the info...is it at all possible to send the link with the info?
Thanks.
Diesel fuel is dyed red to indicate it is tax free which means it can not be used on road vehicles. Each state has different regulations concerning this. The State police check fuel tanks for dyed fuel and put the hurt on if you are using it.
shareIts kind of like owning a gun shop. You have to keep records of every transaction of fuel coming in and out down to the drop like you would with every gun sold. So if the person suspected of stealing cant provide records from where the fuel came from they get to hang out with the feds for a while.
