In that I thought the story was pretty slow and boring--although unique in its details, as how many heating oil crime-dramas are there?--but aside from that, it's an extremely well-made film: superb acting, directing, cinematography, production design, editing, etc.
I liked it overall. I just wish the story had been more exciting. Also, I wouldn't call it a thriller (as it was marked on Amazon streaming) or an action film (as it's marked here).
"Weird"?.. personally i would've loved a bit of weird to brighten up this film a bit... would've left more of a mark at least... No real premise to it, no point.. certainly no reward or re-watch.
shareFunny what people see in movies and how they look at them. I thought that what you described as "slow and boring" was a high point and redeeming feature of the movie, assuming that you consider the "details" as a "heating-oil crime drama" a hindrance to being a good film.
Personally, I felt that the acting was at times great but too often, it would fade and the story lines seemed to do the same. The choices that some of these characters made throughout the film were similarly perplexing.
