The pirates...
Cool idea, but wouldn't they have radar and scanning technology that would detect their presence a mile away? Heck, my fuzz buster radar detector from the 80's gave me at least a 1 mile warning that cops were in the area, LOL.

shareThe whole pirates thing made no sense -- how do the pirates maintain a supply of food and shelter *and* avoid detection?
Are they basically mercenaries attached to competing mining camps?
Everything in this movie makes no sense.

There could be colonies that are not registered. Depends on how advanced space travel is.
Another thing about the moon scene ( I hope I am remembering correctly). Before they leave I think it was said they would be travelling with an armed guard and yet they see the buggies and they get closer and closer and then they shoot at them. why?
It explained the pirates..... They said other countries were harboring them on the moon. I took it to imply we were just seeing the American moon base and there were other countries that had setups on the moon.
