Really good, but also not interesting? Idk
I really love the plot structure, the opening few scenes and ending few scenes are great, but there’s just so little content in between. I love me a slow burn, but besides communicating Agnes’ desire to have a baby, connection with nature, and general crushing unhappiness, the middle hour-and-a-half-or-so is spent looking at this poor German lady be melancholy in a field of gray. I want to say it’s shot well and has good cinematography, but there’s absolutely nothing to look at, until that great fucking ending that recontextualices and saves the movie: that’s how you can be miserable, and interesting, instead of just the former.
