could have been a cult movie...
I loved the story and how it was told - simple, but with great potential. Good pacing and storytelling, and great representation of Wick's emotions without it being too sentimental or over the top.
Keanu did a great job with the script he was given. He absolutely was the best thing about this movie.
Cinematography was good, but it should have been great. For that type of film that's super important. Maybe they lucked the budget to make it superior. Same goes for the soundtrack - good, but not great, while there's so much great music out there for that movie genre.
The rest of the cast though - meh. They were no match for Keanu. Yes, Willian Defoe was a great idea, but I expected more from him for the little screentime he had.
I would recast almost everyone else except for Alfie Allen, he suited the part very well.
Everyone else though seemed kinda "cheap", especially Tarasov (no offence).
Worst thing about the movie was the use of Russian and the messed up accents. Cringe. Hollywood should learn once and for all fake Russian and Russian accents are not cool.
Hire real Russian actors if you are so much into that.
That being said, it's a 6,5-7/10 for me, while it could have been a lot better and really turn into a cult movie.
