What words are tattooed on John's back? It looks like its in Latin

Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat. Read as Fortune Favors The Brave

I thought it was fortune favours the bold.

Literally it is "fortune favours the strong" with "fortis" meaning strength.

But "bold" and "brave" are acceptable translations of similar phrases and "bold" is probably the most popular way it seems to be repeated in modern culture.

On a sidenote, the 3rd Marine Regiment based in Hawaii uses that phrase as a motto, possibly indicating that Wick has a background in the Marines.
