Ricky hasn't gone to Buffalo right?

So Ricky is deciding where to go and is acting like he has to spend the rest of his life in the city that he signs with. I understand location can matter, but seriously it seems to be the only reason the Saints are in the running. He was talking about "where is the love" in New Orleans and basically made them put on a parade for him and that helped keep the Saints on the table yet he never went to Buffalo to see how he would be welcomed there. I have no doubt Buffalo isn't the coolest place to live, but he hasn't even attempted to see what it and it's fanbase is like. He is just weighing the location of New Orleans against the money of Buffalo and not using any other factors. Also how much longer is his career going to be they make it sound like it's coming to a close. So in a year or two he can live where ever he wants. Also wasn't he living in Miami before the Dolphins signed him anyway?

I do feel like the this reaction to Buffalo is realistic. Being a Detroit fan I feel like all of these northern middle-american cities get this treatment from athletes. Buffalo, Cleveland and Detroit are definitely NOT sexy destinations for players and i think they know it. At that stage it IS all about the money.

Have so many realistic examples of that very thing as a Detroit fan:

Pudge Rodriguez, Magglio Ordonez, Prince Fielder, NONE of these guys wanted to come to Detroit. Detroit was just the only team at the time that was desperate enough to role the dice on them (in the case of Pudge and Magglio) and give them the money and term of contract that no other team would. Prince TOTALLY just took the money. He never actually wanted to be here, and it showed.

He likely knows players from Buffalo also he has been in the league long enough to play against those teams and hang in the city.

The NFL has become a full time job off season isn't really a off season. Don't want to live in a place that makes you hate work.

I grew up in Buffalo, I definitely would not have signed their either. The New Orleans deal would have been signed on the tarmack for me. Later, the Miami deal would have been the best (It's All About The U). I wouldn't take the Rams deal, just cuz I can stay "home" in South Beach.
