The Connecticut scene ruined it for me...
:(
shareVery true.
I got the feeling the Conn. scene would be 3 minutes and then back to the story. But nope! Instead, we met waaaaay too many new characters waaaaay too late in the game. Your ex girlfriend from years ago shows up out of the blue, and you give her money right in front of your wife, smoke pot with her, etc etc, like you've remained best friends the whole time? Was that more un-believable or just more dull?
And the neighbor guy? Why even bother with a scene where they show up at the wrong house, and the neighbor has to show them the correct house? It was a waste of 5 minutes. I don't get it.
Several critics have said the exact same thing. I only partially agree. I actually liked it for the most part--until the end, when they all ganged up on her for the story. That didn't work, and dragged down the whole movie. Still a 7/10, but it's easily an 8 if it had been handled better.
