Wish I WERE. I'm tired of this mistake.

Subjunctive, people.

I am pedantic as well as whimsical. Thanks you, thank you, I'm here all week.

reply

Its grammatically incorrect on purpose. :)

reply

Was that?

reply

Zach did that on purpose.

reply

Did he say why? Do they learn grammar or something? Lol. It bugged me too when I saw it.

reply

He said it was in reference to his character being the kids' teacher when really he shouldn't cause he doesn't know anything, hence making a mistake in that sentence.

reply

Yes, may be it's something said by One of The characters that it's important on The film and that's why it si The title

reply

You also should note then that this title ends in a preposition (which is grammatically incorrect, if you want to be so anal).

If you're so smart, how come you didn't realize that?

reply

"Here" is not a preposition in this context (nor is ending a sentence with a preposition grammatically incorrect. That's a grammatical myth.

I know something you don't know ... I am ambidextrous!

reply

"Here" is never a preposition--not in English. Maybe in Ibo.

Ending a sentence with a preposition is definitely not grammatically incorrect.

reply

Thank you. I mentally correct this phrase in my head anytime I hear it said in movies or on TV. But I can tell you, we're fighting a losing battle, people.

reply

I think he should change the title to:

"I wish I had been there"

or

Something more strong like:

"HERE!...that's where I wish I were"

reply

"Wish I Had Made a Good Movie"

reply

Or he could have name it "Wish You Were Here" and have the soundtrack be provided by a certain English heavy progressive band that I like.

reply
