.....presumably Kickstarter investors were funding what they believed would be a down-to-earth, modest reflection on human foibles, a la "Garden State"...if Braff wanted sequences envisioning himself as a comic book hero, complete with little floating robot buddy...then the visual effects money should have come strictly out his own pocket....
