so many haters... but I loved this movie

I'm not Jewish, so I can't relate to the religious undertones, but as someone who is currently watching his mother suffer from Cancer, I see a lot of similarities between my life, and ZB character.

I guess it just hit me, differently. Loved this movie. Just had to share.

Enjoy.

^^ Ditto.

Just recently watched this movie and could relate to the lifestage of Zach and Kate's characters in terms of raising kids and caring for aging parents. I'm also not Jewish but I liked it quite a lot - more than I thought I would. It was sad but relateable for me.

I liked Kate's character; her role in their family, and how she navigates the stuff they're dealing with.

On a side note, this movie portrayed sexual harassment in the workplace quite well. I haven't seen that in a movie and thought it was cool that they went there but it wasn't the whole story.

Totally agree, unfortunately there are bosses out there, who let it slide. Her boss clearly didnt care, or didnt know what it was at all. Overall great movie.

Not every movie is for everyone, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one who got that "connection" that every film maker attempts with their viewers.

Well, you used the term 'haters,' and so everyone thinks you're a 12 year old girl and won't take your opinion seriously. News flash: everyone is a 'hater.'

Agree completely. Great film. Not everyone is a hater. Only bitter, cynical anti-life types who think cruel humor is funny. Of COURSE they wouldn't like this film!

OMG, jrock....I completely agree with you! We lost my mom to cancer in March after a 10 year battle. My dad was totally devoted to her, but she was the one who "ran" the family. Since she has passed, he has done such an amazing job of stepping up and taking the reins (we are all adult kids with kids of our own). I loved this movie! I laughed hard and cried even harder. I thought it was beautiful and the family had a very "real" feel to them.
