Why did such an educated thoughtful woman rush into the tunnels without any backup or any safety or any plan for a way out? I know it was illegal but she could have easily hired people to watch out for her or trail a rope or use a walkie.
shareBecause it's a horror film. A safety net would remove all sense of tension. when have horror characters ever made smart decisions? If they did, it wouldn't be a movie.
shareIt goes with the excitement and novelty of this discovery, similar to her trip in Iran. Plus she wants as few people involved as possible as most do when discovering treasure/artifacts for selfish reasons.
Also it would have brought more attention, plus the police and found them anyway so it may have served no purpose.
